Good news: Contests, Cover talk and more!

Hello!

It’s August. August. Can you believe it? The only reason I do is because I’m in Florida, and it’s 6,000 degrees in the shade, and I’m in my 9th month of pregnancy. Yeah. It’s hot. But despite that, I cannot believe the summer is already nearly over. I can’t I believe the Olympics are over! The thought of not seeing Michael Phelps for another 4 years, if ever…it disturbs me greatly.

(As an aside, I hope one day to be important enough that people make diagrams of my body which also include my disproportionately long torso and paddle-like feet)

Anyhow. I’ve got good news.

The first, which is super exciting, is that ARTICLE 5 has gone into its 5th printing! That’s pretty freaking awesome from what I hear. Thank you to everyone out there who is supporting the book. High-five for A5! And if you haven’t had a chance to read it yet, check out the blog of the lovely Jean BookNerd, where we’re talking storytelling, lies, and also giving away a free copy!

The description of BREAKING POINT is finally postable! Once again, the team at Tor has managed to make it sound much cooler than I ever could. Here we are:

After faking their deaths to escape from prison, Ember Miller and Chase Jennings have only one goal: to lay low until the Federal Bureau of Reformation forgets they ever existed.

Near-celebrities now for the increasingly sensationalized tales of their struggles with the government, Ember and Chase are recognized and taken in by the Resistance—an underground organization working to systematically take down the government. At headquarters, all eyes are on the sniper, an anonymous assassin taking out FBR soldiers one by one. Rumors are flying about the sniper’s true identity, and Ember and Chase welcome the diversion….

Until the government posts its most-wanted list, and their number one suspect is Ember herself.

Orders are shoot to kill, and soldiers are cleared to fire on suspicion alone. Suddenly Ember can’t even step onto the street without fear of being recognized, and “laying low” is a joke. Even members of the Resistance are starting to look at her sideways.

With Chase urging her to run, Ember must decide: Go into hiding…or fight back?

Excited???!!! I AM!

Finally, I’m delighted to announce that just in time for my due date, I’ve finished the first draft of book 3 in the ARTICLE 5 trilogy! Yahoo! It’s going to need a lot of work of course, but for now, I’m happy. And also relieved; I have a feeling these next few months are going to be a little busy…

On that note, I’m going to go have a baby or something. I will try to post again soon, but it might be a little while. When I return, I’ll hopefully have more information about advance copies of BREAKING POINT, and while we prepare for it’s release, I might even share scenes I’ve written from Chase’s perspective…

Happy week everyone! Best wishes to you all!
